What is M365 Copilot?
M365 Copilot is Microsoft’s next-generation AI assistant, offered both as an included feature in your Business Premium license as a Copilot Chat feature and as an upgraded tool in the full Copilot license that further integrates into your organizations environment. Powered by GPT-5, the most advanced language model to date, and enhanced with Sora 2 media creation capabilities, Copilot brings intelligent automation and creativity directly into your workflow.
Security remains a top priority—Copilot is built with enterprise-grade data protection, ensuring that your organizational information stays safe while you leverage AI to boost productivity.
Key highlights include:
- Included with Microsoft 365 Business Premium Access to core Copilot features is bundled with your go -to Office apps, and available to you as you read this newsletter.
- Seamless Integration Copilot works within Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications, making AI assistance a natural part of your daily tasks.
- Visibly Secure for Peace of Mind The green shield icon at the top of the Copilot Chat window means the data you put into the app is analyzed securely within your organization’s environment.
Where Can You Find It?
M365 Copilot is available in two convenient ways:
- Standalone Application Use Copilot as a dedicated app for focused AI interactions. Simply open up the M365 Copilot chat app from the Search box on your Taskbar.
- Embedded in Microsoft 365 Apps Access Copilot directly within your favorite tools for instant productivity enhancements. The button to open a Copilot chat window within Office Suite applications is found on the far right of the menu ribbon at the top of the app window itself.
How Is It Similar to Other AI Agents?
Like other AI solutions, Copilot uses natural language processing to understand your requests and deliver actionable results. Whether you need help drafting content, analyzing data, or generating creative ideas, Copilot responds quickly and intuitively. Copilot operates with some of the strongest AI engines available to date, using the GPT-5 LLM and Sora 2 media engine.
How Is It Different?
Unlike generic AI tools, M365 Copilot is deeply integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem. It helps you use your organization’s data, files, and workflows securely to provide tailored, relevant assistance. This means smarter suggestions, better accuracy, and a more personalized experience without compromising data security.
How to Use M365 Copilot Effectively
- Use Natural Language: Just type what you need—Copilot understands plain English. The more you use it, the better it gets at understanding your requests and providing output in your voice.
- Learn as You Go: The more you interact with Copilot, the better it becomes at delivering precise results and helpful suggestions. The more you integrate it with your organization’s data, the more complete and in-context answers it can provide.
- Reference Organizational Data: The included version of Copilot can reference only open files, documents, and transcripts added to your prompt. While the upgraded license can index data across the environment more seamlessly, the included version will still reference data provided as you interact with Copilot Chat. You can add documents and data to your prompts in two ways:
- Click the Add Content (+) button within the prompt to include files in your prompt.
- Type / to search for documents directly within the chat.
- BE MINDFUL - Always Validate Information: While Copilot is powerful, it’s not infallible. Also avoid using Copilot Chat for compliance-critical tasks, like HR and legal documentation, where accuracy and verbiage is non-negotiable.
Copilot vs. M365 Copilot: What Does Upgrading Your License Get You?
Upgrading to the full M365 Copilot experience unlocks a suite of advanced features:
- AI chat enhanced with Work IQ for smarter business insights
- AI-powered Search and Notebooks for streamlined knowledge management
- Advanced Media Creation tools for professional-grade content
- Full integration of Copilot across all Microsoft 365 applications
- Comprehensive AI-agent access for enterprise-wide productivity
- Enhanced AI management and analytics for better oversight and optimization

It combines ease of access and tailored reference environment with strong AI engines and a secure space for integration. Once again, the AT team embraced the spirit of giving by purchasing toys to support Toys for Tots. The organization is dedicated to bringing the joy of Christmas and a message of hope to children in need across the country, through the gift of a toy.
On December 7th, we proudly participated in the 13th Annual Jeeps on the Run event. It was truly awe-inspiring to see hundreds of Jeeps convoy together on a 45-minute journey to deliver toys to the Marines. With the help of our contributions and others, over 10,000 toys were collected—filling two semi-trailers! The event also raised over $40,000 to support Toys for Tots. These donations will help brighten the holiday season for so many deserving children. |

You’ve conducted interviews and synthesized insights—now it’s time to apply them. This final article focuses on how to translate user feedback into design improvements and validate your decisions.
Turning Insights into Action
Start by prioritizing findings. Not all feedback can or should be addressed immediately. Use prioritization frameworks to guide decision-making.
Examples:
- Impact vs. Effort matrix. Plot potential changes based on their user impact and implementation effort. Focus first on high-impact, low-effort wins—these often yield the greatest ROI.
- MoSCoW method. Categorize findings into Must-haves, Should-haves, Could-haves, and Won’t-haves. This helps teams align on what’s critical versus what’s nice to have.
Collaborating with Teams
Insights should be shared early and often. Cross-functional collaboration ensures that everyone—from designers to developers to product managers—understands the user perspective.
Best practices:
- Create user stories. Translate insights into actionable stories like “As a new user, I want clearer navigation so I can find key features faster.”
- Use annotated wireframes. Show how design changes address specific pain points. This bridges the gap between research and implementation.
- Host insight workshops. Bring teams together to review findings, brainstorm solutions, and co-create prototypes. This fosters buy-in and accelerates iteration.
Validating Changes
Before launching, test your solutions. Conduct usability tests or follow-up interviews to ensure the changes truly solve user problems.
Validation methods:
- A/B testing. Compare versions to see which performs better.
- Usability testing. Observe users interacting with the new design and gather feedback.
- Surveys or feedback forms. Ask users if the changes improved their experience.
Final Thought
User interviews aren’t a one-time activity—they’re a mindset. When embedded into your product development cycle, they foster empathy, reduce risk, and lead to better experiences. By listening, analyzing, and acting on user feedback, you create products that truly resonate. |

McCormick Place in Chicago rolled out the red carpet for the 37th Annual Holiday Showcase, held December 3–4. With NEXT LEVEL as the theme, association professionals and industry partners came together to make new connections, strengthen existing relationships, participate in education and networking sessions, and explore the amazing exhibit hall featuring nearly 150 service providers, technology vendors, and convention and visitors bureaus.
I attend this event every year, and despite 10 inches of snow and freezing Chicago temperatures, the energy inside was warm and welcoming. Attendees and exhibitors alike were all smiles—and perhaps enjoying a little “holiday cheer”—as they connected with exhibitors and peers throughout the showcase.
“NEXT LEVEL is about investing in yourself and your organization,” said Artesha Moore, FASAE, CAE, President & CEO of Association Forum. “Holiday Showcase isn’t just another event—it’s your launchpad to the NEXT LEVEL. This is where we break old patterns, own our voice, and forge the connections that will redefine leadership in our industry. And the timing couldn’t be more critical—we need this energy, this action, and this community now.”
Event Highlights
- Opening Panel Session: Truth Amid Disruption: Leading Change in the Next-Level Era
Senior leaders from associations, meeting planning, and technology shared insights on navigating disruption, including governance changes, evolving member expectations, workforce challenges, and innovation.
- Education for Every Career Stage
Two full days of education addressed all functional areas of association management. This year featured expanded Learning LABs—hands-on, interactive workshops—alongside traditional educational sessions.
- Brunch Keynote Speaker: Sheri Jacobs, FASAE, CAE
Nationally recognized expert Sheri Jacobs delivered a compelling keynote brunch focused on practical, data-driven strategies to rethink business models, enhance member engagement, and adapt to changing needs. Emphasizing boundary setting, staff empowerment, and the encouragement to “Take More Shots,” her message resonated strongly across the audience.
Across sessions and networking opportunities, a common theme emerged: associations are being challenged to evolve—not simply maintain the status quo. Conversations with fellow attendees reinforced how valuable and actionable many of the takeaways were for organizations of all sizes.
After two days filled with meaningful connections, education, miles logged in the exhibit hall, and a couple of excellent dinners with partners, I extend my thanks to Association Forum for hosting another outstanding Holiday Showcase. I am already looking forward to NEXT YEAR! |
